Membrain
Connect Membrain CRM with Salescaling to import companies, contacts, and opportunities, keep data synchronized periodically, and log your meetings as activities in Membrain.
1. Connection Process

- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Find the Membrain card and click Connect.
- Enter your instance subdomain (e.g.,
acmeif your URL ishttps://acme.membrain.com). - Enter the API key generated in Membrain.
- After validating the credentials, an initial import of companies, contacts, and opportunities is queued.
Membrain does not offer webhooks: incoming changes are detected with an incremental sync approximately every 10 minutes.
2. Requirements and Permissions
To connect the integration, you need:
- A Membrain account with access to the REST API v2.
- A valid API key (sent in the
APIKeyheader). - Your Membrain instance subdomain.

| Sync smart category notes | Creates the consolidated note with clips grouped by Smart Category. |
See CRM timeline synchronization for recommended scenarios and frequently asked questions.
Membrain specific configuration
| Field | Usage |
|---|---|
| Default sales process | Default sales process. |
| Call activity type | Activity type used when creating calls in Membrain. |
| Default opportunity owner | Default owner for opportunities when applicable. |
| Custom field mapping | Mapping of Salescaling custom fields to Membrain properties. |
Configure Call activity type so that calls processed in Salescaling generate activities in Membrain.
4. Data Flow: From Salescaling to Membrain
After a meeting is processed, Salescaling can write data to Membrain:
- Meeting activities: meeting summaries and notes as activities linked to the associated company, contact, or opportunity.
- Custom fields: mapped custom field values (with the To CRM toggle active).
Salescaling does not create or update companies, contacts, or opportunities in Membrain; entity synchronization is primarily incoming.
5. Data Flow: From Membrain to Salescaling
Salescaling periodically imports and synchronizes:
- Companies → companies in Salescaling.
- Contacts → contacts (require
CompanyIdin Membrain; the company-contact relationship is created). - Opportunities → deals, linked to the company by
CompanyId. - Records deleted in Membrain (
Deleted=trueorIncludeDeleted) are reflected as deleted in Salescaling.
This data powers the Associations functionality, linking each recording with the correct contact, company, and/or deal records.
6. Custom fields
- Open Settings on the Membrain card.
- In the Custom field mapping section, map Salescaling fields to Membrain
CustomField{GUID}properties. - Supported types include text, number, date, select, and currency. File, ScoreCard, and Calculation types are not synchronized.
- Enable To CRM on each mapping to send values to Membrain after processing meetings or calls.
7. Troubleshooting
- Slow import: Membrain limits the request rate; the import and sync use pagination and retries for HTTP 429 errors.
- Contact without company: contacts without a
CompanyIdin Membrain may be skipped or require a placeholder company depending on the tenant configuration. - Meetings without activity: configure Call activity type in Settings (for calls) or the legacy meeting type for video calls.
